Hello!

Here is the answer for your question!

Question:-  If a runner takes as much time in running 20 metres as the car takes in covering 50 metres. The distance covered by the runner during the time the car covers 1 km is

------------------------------------------------------------------

Answer:-

  • Let the time taken by both car and runner be x

So, runner covers 20m in x time and car covers 50m in x time

  • car covers 1km in 20x time              [ \frac{1000}{50} = 20]

  • Runner covers 400m in 20x time      [20x = 20 × 20]

Hence, The distance covered by the runner during the time the car covers 1 km is 400 meters

Hope this helped you with your doubt :)
