Step-by-step explanation:

Let the initial weight of A and B be ‘7x’ and ‘8x’ units respectively

Total weight of A & B = 7x + 8x = 15x

When A’s weight increases by 10% & total weight increases by 20%,

⇒ A’s increased weight = 110% of 7x = 1.1 × 7x = 7.7x

⇒ Total increased weight = 120% of 15x = 1.2 × 15x = 18x

Hence,

B’s increased weight = 18x - 7.7x = 10.3x

⇒ Increase in B’s weight = 10.3x - 8x = 2.3x

∴ Percentage increase in B’s weight = 2.3x/8x × 100 = 28.75%
