Let the distance between his home to work place be x. Time taken when he goes at the speed of 24 km per hour = distance / speed = X/24. Time taken at the speed of 30 km per hour = x/30. Difference between both time = 5 min + 4 min. X/24 - x/30 = 9 min. (5x-4x)/120 = 9/60 hours. X/120=9/60. X=18 km
