Increase in length (height) of a tree occurs at the top of the plant in the stem tips. So unless the soil accumulates around the base of a tree, the nail will be at the same height as it was when you drove the nail into the tree. I can tell you from personal experience, the nail will be completely enclosed with the trunk of the tree as it increase in diameter. I was removing a tree from the fence line of a pasture. The barbed wire strands were embedded in the wood of the tree. I had to cut the wire on each side of the tree before felling the tree and removing the stump.

Answer:

The the height of the tree will remains same that is 5'.

Explanation:

the growth of height of the tree always happens at the tip of the shoot where apical meristem is present so the new cells deposit over older cells from the above hence the height of the tree will remain constant.

Hope it helps ♥️
