4m = 400cm

so, let no.of.times big fish is bigger than smaller fish be y

⇒ 20y = 400

⇒ y = 400/20 = 20 times bigger

Given,

Length of small fish = 20 cm

Length of big fish = 4 m

To find,

Number of small fishes ,together that will be as long as the big one.

Solution,

We can simply solve this mathematical problem by using the following mathematical process.

First of all,

Converting the length of big fish, into centimetre unit, for the sake of easier calculations,

Length of big fish = 4m = (4×100) cm = 400 cm

[Term of unit conversion : 1 m = 100 cm]

Now,

Number of required small fishes :

= Length of 1 big fish/ Length of 1 small fish

= 400cm/20cm

= 20

Hence, 20 small fishes together will be as long as the big one.
