Answer :

Given -

  • Distance = 100 m
  • Time = 9.5 s

To Find -

  • Average Speed in km/hr ?

Solution -

Avg. Speed = Distance/Time

⇒ Avg. Speed = 100/9.5

⇒ Avg. Speed = 10.52 m/s

Hence, Speed (Average Speed) is 10.52 m/s.

Additional Information -

  • Distance is the length of the total path travelled.

  • Displacement is the shortest distance between the initial position and the final position of the object.

  • Distance is a scalar quantity and Displacement is a vector quantity.

  • Speed is Distance travelled in per unit time.

  • Velocity is Displacement in per unit time.

  • Speed is a scalar quantity and velocity is a vector quantity.
