if a square is divided into 5 equal strips and 3 of them are black and 2 are grey what fraction of the perimeter is grey?

It depends on the interference. Interference is defined as the sight where two surfaces meet. It is not the part of either of the surfaces but is infact the space between them.
So, if two adjacent sides are grey and black, we do not know the line joining the both belongs to whether grey or black.
