If a square is formed by the diagonal of the square as an edge, what is the ratio between the area?

let the side of the square be x
so by Pythagoras theorem the diagonal=√2x


the required ratio be
 \frac{ {x}^{2} }{{( \sqrt{2}x) }^{2} } = \frac{ {x}^{2} }{2 {x}^{2} } = \frac{1}{2}
