Answer-

We know that,

  • Speed of light = 3 × 10⁵ km/s

  • Distance of the earth from the star = 100 × 9.5 × 10¹² km

Time taken (t)

= 100 × 9.5 × 10¹² km / 3 × 10⁵ km/s

= 316.67 × 10⁷ s

A light is the distance that light travels in vacuum in one year. If a star is at a distance of 100 light years then it would take light, 100years to reach earth.

Therefore, after 100 years the explosion will be visible to people on earth.
