As we know:

Kinetic Energy=1/2mv^2

First...convert the mass into kilograms as your speed is given in m/s..

the mass in kg of stone=0.5kg

K. E= 1/2*0.5*20=5Joule

Given,

Mass of the stone=500g,

Strike with the velocity=20ms^-1

To Find,

Kinetic energy of the stone at that point.

Solution,

As mass and striking velocity are already given, we have to find kinetic energy at that point using these values.

So, kinetic energy of the stone=1/2×mass×velocity²

                                                    =1/2×500×20²

                                                    =1/2×500×400

                                                    =100000J

Hence, kinetic energy at that point is 100000J.
