Answer:
answer is 322 marks which is 40.25 %.
where,
35% ----- 42marks less than passing marks
48% ----- 62marks more than passing marks
so now, addition of marks 42+62 =104
and difference of percentage 48% - 35% =13%
13%-------> 104 marks
100%------> ??(x)
x = 100*104/13
= 800. ( as percentage cancels)
The total marks is 800
now, 35% of total marks 800 = (35/100)*800= 280 The student got 280 marks (35%) for 1st time,if we add 280+42 = 322 ( why addition of 42, because he needs 42 marks more to pass)
322 is the passing marks.
The passing percentage of test is (322/800)*100 = 40.25%
