Given :-

  • A tower of 30 m high casts a shadow at an angle 60°.

To Find :-

  • The length of the shadow on the ground.

Solution :-

We have, a 30 m high tower forming shadow at ground whuch is the base .

Angle formed is 60° between perpendicular hieght of tower & base hieght of the shadow formed.

We knew that,

➝ tan θ =  \dfrac{perpendicular }{base \:}

➝ tan 60° =  \dfrac{30 }{base \:}

We know that , tan 60 = √3

➝ √3 =  \dfrac{30 }{base \:}

➝ base = \cancel {\dfrac{30}{ \sqrt{3} }}

➝ base = 17.33 m

Hence, The length of the shadow on the ground is 17.33 m .
