Let train from Meerut to Delhi be A and train from Meerut to Delhi be B.
Let Distance between Meerut and Delhi be x km.
A takes 1 hr to reach Delhi , so its speed =x/1=x km/h.
B takes 1.5 hr to reach meerut, so its speed is x/1.5 = 2x/3 km/h.
Since they will meet between Delhi and Meerut at same time.
Let time taken by both to meet be t.
Distance travelled by A in t hr = x × t =xt km.
Distance travelled by B = 2x/3 × t = 2xt/3 km.
Sum of their distance will be equal to total distance.
therefore, xt + 2xt/3 = x.
On solving, t = 3/5 hr =3/5 × 60 = 36 min.
So trains will meet at 4:36 p.m.
