if a train travels in a straight line from city a to b ,it covers 1040 km. if an aeroplane flies in a curved path between the same two cities, how much distance it will cover? why?

Answer:

if the plane has to fly in straight line then he must fly at some angle theta with the AB. And component of velocity of plane in direction of air flow with respect to ground should be zero
