If a trinomial was multiplied by another trinomial, how many new terms would you get by using the distributive property BEFORE you combine like terms with addition and subtraction?
Please help me, thank you!

Answer:

9 terms

Step-by-step explanation:

trinomial =

ax² +bx + c

:. if (ax² +bx + c)(dx² +ex + f)

then terms would come to:

adx⁴ + aex³ + afx² + bdx³ + bex² + bfx + cdx² + cex + cf

making 9 terms in total.
