Given:

A uniform electric field N/C exists in a region. Area is 20 cm².

To find:

Electric Flux through the surface?

Calculation:

  • Let flux be \phi

  • Area vector will be along \hat{i} as area plane is along Y-Z plane.

  • Also , convert area from cm² to m².

 \therefore \:  \phi =  \vec{E} \: .  \: \vec{s}

 \implies \:  \phi =  (2 \hat{i} + 3 \hat{j})  .  ( \dfrac{20}{10000}  \hat{i})

 \implies \:  \phi =  0.004 + 0

 \implies \:  \phi =  0.004 \: N {m}^{2} /C

So, electric flux through the surface is 0.004 Nm²/C.
