let the weight of the empty vessel be x
and the water filled in it be y
now
x+y=16.5 ---(1)
when 1/4 of water is there then
x+y/4=5.25
4x+y=21
from (1)
4x+16.5-x=21
3x=21-16.5
3x=4.5
x=1.5
therefore weight of the empty vessel is 1.5

hope this helps:p

Answer:

Weight of full water vessel = 16.5

weight when its 1/4 full = 5.25

weight of 3/4 water = 16.5 - 5.25 = 11.25

weight of 1/4 water only = 11.25/3 = 3.75

weight of empty vessel = 5.25 - 3.75 = 1.50

Step-by-step explanation:

hope it helps you
