The watch must be sold at Rs.144 .

  • Selling price of a watch at 15% loss is Rs. 120.
  • We calculate the cost price of the watch using the above information.
  • We assume the cost price of the exclusive as x.
  • Now,

Selling price = x - 0.15x = 120

0.85x = 120

x = 141.18

  • Now we have to calculate the selling price of the watch for gaining a profit of 2%.
  • We calculate 2% of the cost price which is the profit,

Profit = 141.18 × 0.02 = 2.82

  • Adding the profit with the cost price to obtain selling price,

Selling price = Cost price + profit = 141.18 + 2.82 = 144 Rs.
