Given :-

  • A = { x : x ∈ N , x ≤ 3 }
  • B = { x : x ∈ W , x < 2 }

To find :-

  • Cartesian product of A and B ( A × B )

Solution :-

In order to find the Cartesian product of two sets A and B, firstly we have to find the elements of set A and B. x ∈ W means x is a whole number. W is the symbol for representing set of all whole numbers and x ∈ N means x belongs to natural numbers, N is the symbol for representing set of natural numbers.

Following are the sets A and B written in roaster form :-

A = { 1 , 2 , 3 }

B = { 0 , 1 }

Cartesian product of set and B is :-

A × B = { ( 1 , 0 ) , ( 1 , 1 ) , ( 2 , 0 ) , ( 2 , 1 ) , ( 3 , 0 ) , ( 3 , 1 ) }

This is the ordered pair of m and n such that (m,n) where m ∈ A and n ∈ B .
