Subsets of set A are {-1}, {1}, {3}, {-1, 1}, {1,3}, {3, -1}, {-1, 1, 3} and { } (empty set).

A = { x: x = 2n - 1, n€ W, n< 3}

  • n belongs to Whole number and n< 3

So n values can be 0, 1 and 2.

If

n=0, x = 2(0) - 1 = 0 - 1 = -1

n= 1, x = 2(1) - 1 = 2 - 1 = 1

n=2, x = 2(2) - 1 = 4 - 1 = 3

So the elements of the set A = { -1, 1, 3}.

Subsets of set A are {-1}, {1}, {3}, {-1, 1}, {1,3}, {3, -1}, {-1, 1, 3} and { } (empty set).

Note:

  • Every set is a subset of itself.
  • Every set has null set or empty set (∅) as a subset.

Hope you're doing good.

A = { x: x = 2n - 1, n€W, n< 3}

A= {-1, 1, 3, }

Therefore Subsets are:

A= itself, Empty Set, {-1},{1}, {3}, {-1,1},{-1,3}, {1,3}
