As we know that,
Formula of :
⇒ (x - y)² = (x + y)² - 4xy.
Using this formula in the equation, we get.
⇒ (a - y)² = (a + y)² - 4ay.
⇒ (a - y)² = (6)² - 4(16).
⇒ (a - y)² = 36 - 64.
⇒ (a - y)² = - 28.
⇒ (a - y) = √-28.
⇒ (a - y) = √28 x √-1.
⇒ x = ±√-1 is an imaginary and √-1 = i(iota).
⇒ (a - y) = √28i.
