Given :  a1 =3 and a3=27 are in gp.

To find : Common ratio

Solution:

in  an  gp

aₙ = arⁿ⁻¹

a = first term

r = common ration

n = number of term

a₁=3 and a₃=27

a = a₁  = 3

a₃ = ar³⁻¹

=> 27 = 3r²

=> r² = 9

=> r = ± 3

Common Ration can be 3  or - 3

GP can be

3  , 9  , 27 , 81 ....

3 ,  -9 , 27 , - 81.....
