Let PQ touch the circle at point R. We know that,tangents drawn from a external point to a circle are equal in length.

: \: AB = AC = 5 cm

⇒AP  + BP =  AQ + QC =cm

⇒AP  + PR = AQ + QR =cm

[BP = PR \: and \: QC = QR]

now \: perimeter \: of \: ∆APQ=

Addition \: of \: all \: three \: sides \\  =  AP  + PQ  + AQ

 = AP + RP + QR + AQ

 \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \: [ \: from \: (i)]

 = 5 + 5

 = 10 \: cm

The \: Perimeter\: of \:∆APQ \: is \:10cm
