SOLUTION

Value of B and C depends on the value of A. if A is non-singular, i.e non zero, then B=C.

But if A=0, then both terms AB and AC becomes zero, so B and C need not be necessarily equal.

Question -

If AB = AC then, what can be the following outcomes ?

Solution -

In the above Question, we have been given the following information -

AB = AC

We are not specified what AB and AC are .

They may be equal line segments .

Or they may be the product of two numbers .

If they are distinct numbers -

We have the following condition -

AB = AC

Hence, we can state that B = C when the value of A is non zero .

Additional Information -

Commutative Property -

If two numbers , A and B are commutative, that means A + B = B + A

Distributive Property -

If three numbers, A , B and C are distributive, then A ( B + C ) = AB + AC

Associative Property -

For three numbers A, B and C , A ( B × C ) = ( A × B ) × C = B × ( A × C )

Additive Identity -

For any number A , A + 0 = A

Line Segment -

A line segment is a part of a line that is bounded by two distinct end points.
