Since, AB || EF and EF || CD

∴ AB || CD

angle BCD = x + y

angle ABC = x + y = 70° [Alternate angle]

angle CEF + angle ECD = 180° [ co-interior angle]

⇒ 150° + y = 180°

⇒ y = 180° - 150°

y = 30°

So, x + y = 70°

⇒ x = 70° - y

⇒ x = 70° - 30°

x = 40°

Therefore, the value of x = 40° and y = 30° .
