We know ∆ABC~∆DEF
AREA of ∆DEF = 4/9 (area ∆ABC)(GIVEN)
area (∆DEF)/area (∆ ABC) =4/9
Now,
Ratio of two similar ∆'s is equal to square of ratio of corresponding sides
area (∆DEF)/area (∆ ABC) =4/9 = (EF/BC)²
= 2/3 = EF/BC
= BC/EF = 3/2
