Let GD=x

so that AG=2x

∴AD=x+2x=3x

Since is a median, therefore

BD= ½×BC=½×6=3

From right angled ΔABCAB³ =BD²+AD²

or 5²=⅔+(3x)²

or 25+9+9x²

or 9x² =16

or x² = 16/9

or x= 4/3

HEnce, AG=2x

=2×4/3= 8/3
