if ABCD is a cyclic quadrilateral, then find the value of x and y

Answer: y=25

x= 40

in a cyclic quadrilateral, opp angles are supplementary(180)

hence:-,

angle B + angle D=180   and   angle A+ angleC=180

2x+4+4y-4=180

2x+4y=180 [take out 2 common]

x+2y=90-----(1)


x+10+5y+5=180

x+5y=180-15

x+5y=165------(2)

eq(2)-(1)==  3y=75

hence, y=25 (sub in eq(1))

we get, x+2(25)=90

x=90-50

hence, x=40
