We know that,

AE=1/2 AC=5x-7

AC=10x-14 -----------(1)

Again,DC=3x+9

We know that,

DE=1/2 BD

thus, 1/2BD=3x+9

BD=6x+18 ----------(2)

adding, 1 and 2 we get,

AC+BD=16x+4

=4(4x+1)
