. if Abhishek placed a object at a distance of 25 cm away from a converging mirror of focal length 20 cm. Discus the effect on the nature and position of the image if the position of the object changes from 25 cm to 15 cm. Justify your answer without using mirror formula.

Step-by-step explanation:
mirror is concave, focal length is 20 cm means radius of curvature will be 40 cm.
thus the object is between focus and centre of curvature.
the image will be real, inverted, magnified and beyond the centre of curvature.
when the image is moved to 15 cm means it is now between pole and focus. the only place in a concave mirror where image is virtual, erect, magnified and on the other side of the mirror.
One thing I would like to share with you. when we say image is real or virtual, what does it exactly mean. In case of real image, if you place a screen at the position of image formation. you can see the image on the screen in case of real image but not in case of virtual image.
