Given:

  • Diagonals AC and BD of a rectangle = 9.4cm.
  • Measure of \angleAOD = 90°.

To Construct:

  • A rectangle with the given measures.

Some properties of rectangle used:

  • Diagonals bisect each other .
  • If the diagonals of rectangle intersect at 90° then it is square.

Steps of Construction:

  • Draw AC = 9.4cm .
  • Draw the perpendicular bisector of AC .
  • Taking O as centre and OC as radius cut two arcs on perpendicular bisector ,one above AC and other below AC .
  • Join A to B , A to D , B to C and C to D.
  • Hence ABCD is the required rectangle.

Also , the rectangle ABCD is square .

Note:

  • All squares are rectangles but converse is not true.
