The acceleration of gravity decreases as we do below or above the earth's surface.

Explanation:

The acceleration of gravity is maximum at the surface of earth.

We know the force of attraction between two objects.

                                     ⇒ F = \frac{GMm}{R^{2} }

where, R is the radius of earth.

M is the mass of earth.

m is the mass of the object.

G is the gravitational constant.

If the object is above the earth,

                            ⇒   ß = \frac{GMm}{(d + R)^{2} }

Here, d is the distance between the planet and object

And if the object is below the surface,

                                      ⇒   ß = \frac{GMm}{d^{2} }
