Solution:.
In ∆ABC ,
AB=6cm
BD= AB- AD
BD= 6-2
BD=4cm
According to thales theroem ,
AD/BD = AE/EC
2/4=AE/AC - AE ( EC = AC - AE)
2/4=AE/9-AE ( AC= 9 cm)
Cross multiple
18-2AE = 4AE
18 = 4AE + 2AE
18=6AE
AE= 18/6
AE=3 cm
