Consider ABCD as the parallelogram

Then AB ll CD and transversal AD cuts it. Thus according to the interior angle property of a transversal, the sum of 2 adjacent angles is 180*.

Thus 3x + 7x = 180*

               10x = 180*

                  x = 180/10 = 18*
