given,

alfa = 1/beta

hence the roots of the given quadratic equations are in reciprocal.

if roots are in reciprocal then constant = coefficient of first term.

here,

The first term is,  4x2  its coefficient is  4 .

The middle term is,  2x  its coefficient is  2 .

The last term, "the constant", is  k-4.

so, k-4 = 4

=》k = 4+4.

=》k = 8.
