the given equation is 2ysq+7y+5

here a = 2

b = 7

c = 5

therefore, alfa+bita=-b/a= - 7/2

alfa*bita= c/a = 5/2

therefore, alfa+bita+alfa*bita= -7/2 + 5/2= (-7+5)/2 = -2/2 = -1
