Monetary system is for our convenience. Before that we have used minerals such as gold, silver and goods for trading.
These days it would strike as a primitive and very uncommon practice. Monetary system allows us to have the system running based on one value, and depend on one number index divided by categories depending on different countries.
But if we remove monetary system out of the equasion, we end up having the market structure without capitalism and that removes a lot of goods from our stores which we bring from different parts of the world. Access to that would be disabled without money, as some countries would not want to take the goods for their products.
