If alpa nd beta zeros of the polynomial
=x2-5x+k such that alpha -beta =1 fnd the value of k

Good Afternoon

For a general Quadratic polynomial say

F(x) = ax² + bx + c

Alfa + Beta = -b/a

And

Alfa × Beta = c/a

Alfa - Beta = ±{(Alfa + Beta )² - 4 Alfa × Beta }

Alfa - Beta = ±(25 - 4k)

1 = ±( 25 - 4k )

4k = 24

k = 6 OR k = 13/2
