Answer:

2x² - x + 1/8 = 0

=> 2x² - x/2 - x/2 + 1/8 = 0

=> x(2x-1/2) - 1/4(2x-x/2) = 0

=> (x-1/4)(2x-1/2)=0

=> x = 1/4,1/4

=> a+b = 1/4+1/4 = 1/2
