alpha + beta = 2
alpha x beta = 3
alpha/beta + beta/alpha
take the LCM
alpha2 + beta2/alpha x beta
alpha2+beta2 can be written as [alpha + beta]square - 2 alpha x beta
which is in the form [a+b]the whole square
therfore
[2]square - 2x3/3
i.e 4 - 6 / 3
which is -2/3
