 x^{2} - 1 = 0

 Given \: \alpha \:and \: \beta \: are \: roots

 of \: the \: equation

 \alpha + \beta = \frac{ - Coefficient \: x}{Coefficient \: of \:x^{2} }

 = \frac{ - 0 }{ 1 }

 = 0

Therefore.,

 \red{\alpha + \beta} \green { = 0 }
