ab=-2...(2)

(1)/(2)

1/a+1/b= 1/2

Squaring on both sides

1/a^2+/b^2+1/ab=1/4

1/a^2+1/b^2=1/4+1/2=3/4

Now

(1/a-1/b)^2

=1/a^2+1/b^2-1/ab

=3/4+1/2

=5/4

=√5/2
