Step-by-step explanation:

f(y)=y²+y-2

y²+2y-1y-2

y(y+2)-1(y+2)

(y-1)(y+2)

y=1,y=-2

alpha =1

beta=-2

1/alpha -1/beta=(1/1)-(-1/2)=1/1)+(1/2)=3/2=1.5
