Given:

α, β are zeroes of polynomial x² + 6x +2.

To Find:

1 / α + 1 / β

Solution:

we know,

x² - (α + β)x + αβ = 0

x² + 6x +2 = 0

on comparing,

α + β = -6

αβ = 2

1/α+1/β = β + α / αβ

1/α+1/β = -6 / 2

1/α+1/β = - 3

So,  the value of 1/alpha + 1/beta = - 3.
