If alpha and Beta are the zeroes of the quadratic polynomial f(x)=3x²- 5x-2, then evaluate alpha² + beta² .

let a= 3, b= -5 and c= -2

α+β= 5/3 and αβ= -2/3

to equate α²+β², we use the identity (a+b)² = a²+b²+2ab

so, we get: (5/3)² + 2(-2/3)

= 25/9 - 4/3

= 25-12/9

= 13/9
