We know that;

α + β= -b/a

=> α + β= -1/1 = -1

αβ= c/a

=> αβ= -2

Now,

1/α + 1/β (taking LCM)

=> β + α/αβ (Since, β+α=α+β)

=> -1/-2

=> 1/2
