Given ;

  • p(x) = 2x² - 4x + 3
  • roots = α & β

Comparing the given quadratic eq. with standard quadratic eq (ax² + bx + c = 0)

we get;

  • a = 2
  • b = -4
  • c = 3

Thus sum of zeros;

  • α + β = - b/a
  • α + β = - (-4/2)
  • α + β = 2

Thus product of zeros;

  • αβ = c/a
  • αβ = 3/2
