if alpha and beta are the zeros of the polynomial P of x is equal to 2 X square + 5 x + K find the value of k such that alpha + beta into alpha beta equal to 24​

Given

Let alpha be X and beta be Y

(X+Y)(XY) =24

P(x) = 2x^2 +5x + k

Alpha+ beta = X+Y= -(b/a) = -(5/2)

Alpha x beta = XY = (c/a) = k/2

But we know that..(X+Y)(XY)= 24

So, k/2 x (-5/2)= 24

-5k/4 = 24

-5k = 96

K = 96/-5 = -19.2

Ans k = -19.2
