Given quadratic polynomia is x^2-x-k
Given alpha-beta =9------->1
from the equation sum of roots
alpha+beta=-b/a------->2
=1
solving 1 and 2 we get
alpha=5 and beta=-4
from the equation.... product of the roots =c/a
5×(-4) =-k
k=20
