Answer:

-1

Step-by-step explanation:

f(x) = x^2-p(x+1)+c = 0

or, f(x) = x^2-px-p+c = 0

f(x) = x^2-px+(c-p) = 0

therefore, a+b = -(-p)/1 = p

& a*b = (c-p)/1 = c-p

now given, (a+1)*(b+1) = 0

i.e. ab+a+b+1 = 0

(c-p)+p+1 = 0

c+1 = 0

c=-1.
